The Medalist Story

The Medalist story began when WinTech Racing asked Klaus Filter to refine his hulls to incorporate everything he has learned in the course of his forty years experience in testing his own hull designs and those of his competitors.  His goal was to then create a series of new hulls capable of outperforming each and every one of them.

Task accomplished.  Klaus was able to design a hull proven to have less wetted surface and create less drag for extra efficiency and speed. The Medalist is a hull that actually helps rowers compensate for roll, keep the boat set and virtually eliminate porpoising. With a unique self-bailing system, the Medalist sweeps water from rain or waves under the coxswain and out the stern for peak performance even under adverse conditions.

In short, the Medalist is a shell that Klaus Filter believes will outperform any other in the world.

To match this new design, WinTech Racing was then set the challenge to incorporate into the new hull a level of construction and technology as revolutionary and superior as the design itself.

Task accomplished.  WinTech Racing perfected high modulus, prepreg carbon fibre technology to create incredibly stiff, yet extraordinarily rowable boats.  The new monocoque construction eliminated the need for ribs in the hull, creating a stiffer and more durable boat.  With the addition of several other truly unique features, the Medalist range boasts performance and safety characteristics you simply will not find in any other line of shells.
